Cinéma Galeries | The Underground, was commissioned by the brothers Oswald and Robert Putzeys, and built in 1939, by architect Paul Bonduelle. In 1993, the theatre was made a landmark, due to its historical and artistic value. The architecture of Cinéma Galeries is a hybrid of Art Déco and Modernist styles, with subtle yet distinctive Mediterranean and Romanesque ornamentation. It also boasts a remarkable underground, vaulted exhibition space of 1000 m2.
